Preparing for a licence gap workshop
A practical checklist for founders who want a pre-licensing readiness session to produce usable outputs, not another slide deck.
Bring the policies you actually use, not the aspirational folder. If customer onboarding still runs on a shared spreadsheet, say so in the first hour; we will map the control as it exists.
Have one person who can speak for operations and one who owns compliance decisions. Workshops stall when every exception requires a third person who is not in the room.
Collect recent complaint examples and outsourcing agreements before the session. Supervisors ask about both early, and gaps there often reshape the readiness scorecard more than a missing glossary.
Leave time after the workshop for a short written map: which evidence exists, which is draft, and which will not be ready before filing. That map is the deliverable founders reuse when counsel drafts the formal pack.
