About

A small audit practice for fintech controls

Slate Finch Advisory was formed to give payment firms, wallet issuers, and lenders a place to send working papers — not pitch decks — when they need an independent reading of their control environment.

Origin in Chiayi

Our office at 8926 Corwin Walk anchors fieldwork for Taiwanese fintech teams who prefer clear Mandarin and English correspondence and who still keep stamp logs and binder trails alongside digital evidence rooms.

We grew from repeated requests for compliance testing that large networks treated as a junior side task. Founders wanted ranked findings, documented sample methods, and a remediation order their operations leads could execute without translating corporate language.

How we work

Every engagement begins with a conflict check and a written scope. We sample files, walk settlement desks, and challenge safeguarding claims against bank evidence. Draft findings are workshopped with management before anything reaches a board pack.

Evidence before narrative

Observations cite named files, reconciliations, or interview notes. If we cannot point to the source, it does not enter the memorandum.

Proportionate sampling

We size samples to the licence and risk profile, then record the method so supervisors can reconstruct how files were chosen.

Board-usable output

Remediation lists are ordered by exposure and effort. We avoid decorative scoring that cannot survive a follow-up question.

Talk through an upcoming review window

If your team is preparing for a supervisory letter, licence filing, or internal assurance cycle, we can outline whether a full compliance audit or a narrower operations review fits.
